Refund and cancellation policy

Last updated 24 September 2026

Try it free for 14 days, before you pay anything

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. No payment details are taken to start it, nothing is charged when it ends, and everything you saved stays in your account. The trial is the full product, so you can decide whether ScoutTide is worth paying for before any money changes hands. We email the organisation's managers before the trial ends, so the first charge is never a surprise.

The one exception: if you subscribe during the trial, your payment details are taken at checkout and the first payment is charged on the day the trial ends, not the day you subscribe. We email the managers three days before that first payment with its date and amount. Cancel before then and nothing is charged, and the rest of your free trial still runs to its end.

Full refund within 14 days of any payment

If you are not happy, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of any payment. That covers the first payment and every renewal, monthly or annual. No questions asked, and you do not have to give a reason.

How to ask for a refund

  • Email support@scouttide.com with the email address of your ScoutTide account and the receipt or order number (it is on the receipt Paddle emailed you), or use the contact form; or
  • use the Request refund link in the receipt email from Paddle, or look the order up at paddle.net.

Paddle, our merchant of record, processes the refund and returns the money to the original payment method. How quickly it shows on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer. A refunded subscription is cancelled, so it does not renew.

After 14 days

Once 14 days have passed since a payment, that payment is not refundable, except where the law requires a refund or we made a billing mistake (see below). This includes the unused part of a month or a year.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from Organisation → Billing. Your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, the plan does not renew, and no further charge is made. Nothing is deleted when a plan ends: your data stays readable and exportable, and only the metered AI features and adding seats, products and documents pause. The terms (section 10) say when an unused organisation is eventually deleted.

Billing mistakes

Billing mistakes are always fixed, whenever you find them. If you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, or charged an amount that does not match the plan you chose, write to support@scouttide.com and we will put it right, with a refund where one is due.

Your statutory rights

Nothing here takes away rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be excluded. Paddle's own refund policy also applies to the payment, and Paddle may grant a refund at its own discretion.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, your access continues unchanged for 14 days while the payment is retried and you update your details. If it still cannot be taken, the metered AI features and adding seats, products and documents pause, and nothing is deleted; choosing a plan again restores them.

Who takes the payment

Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd and its affiliates, our merchant of record. Paddle handles your payment details, the applicable taxes and invoicing, and issues the invoice in your company's name. ScoutTide never sees your card number.
