1. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh (GOB) will provide fund from the Operating Budget towards the cost of Consultancy Services for Inspection, Data collection, Condition Evaluation and Data Entry of Bridges & Culverts of Dhaka Zone and Mymensingh Zone into Bridge Management System (BMS) of Roads and Highways Department. This service will pave the way to build a comprehensive database of bridges/culverts under RHD. The objective of this specific service is to establish a database of bridges/culverts for these two zones. 2. SCOPE OF SERVICES Bridge Inspection is the engineering assessment of the physical condition of a Bridge to determine necessary remedial measures such as maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, replacement etc. The distresses of Bridges/Culverts will be investigated as per Bridge Inspection and Evaluation Manual available at RHD Website or Office of the Undersigned.
