Your organisation and products

Set the countries and regions you sell in

Tell ScoutTide where each product can be delivered, so you see the tenders you can bid for. Choose a continent, a list of countries, or anywhere.

Each product says where you can deliver it. ScoutTide uses this to keep your queue to tenders you can bid for. You set it per product, under Where do you sell?.

Your three choices

  • Anywhere. Leave Continent on Anywhere and Countries empty. You see every matching tender worldwide.
  • A continent. Pick one in Continent and leave Countries empty. You see matching tenders from that whole continent.
  • A list of countries. Add the countries you can deliver in. This is the narrowest choice.

Anywhere is a fine answer if you really sell worldwide. If you do not, set your area: a broad product can drown in tenders it could never bid for.

Steps

  1. Open the menu under your initials and choose Organisation, then Products in the settings rail.
  2. Open the menu on a product tile and choose Edit.
  3. Scroll to Where do you sell?.
  4. To limit the product to one continent, choose it in Continent.
  5. To limit it to certain countries, click in Countries and type a country name to add it. Add as many as you need. Press Remove on a country to take it off.
  6. Watch the live count under the form. It updates as you change the area.
  7. Press Save & rescan.

How the area changes your matches

Open the product to see What this product scans for. Your area shows as AND the buyer is in for a continent, or AND the country is for a list of countries.

  • With a list of countries, a tender from any other country is set aside, with the reason shown. You can still see it on your set aside list, and put it back if the AI got it wrong.
  • With a continent only, a tender from outside the continent is not dropped. It is kept as a weaker match, below the ones inside your area.
  • When a tender does not say where the buyer is, a country list keeps it as a possible fit rather than setting it aside.

If a product has no area at all, its page and tile can show Matching tenders worldwide: with a count, and a Set where you sell link back to this part of the form.

Your home countries come first

Your tender queue can show tenders from your home countries first, then the rest. When it does, the top of the list says so, for example United Kingdom first. Press Mix all countries to see everything in one order.

ScoutTide works out your home countries from what you have told it, such as the tender you signed up from, the tenders your team works on, and the countries your products name. A country none of your products sells in is never treated as home.

Different areas for different products

If you deliver one service locally and another worldwide, make them separate products, each with its own area. Each product keeps its own matches.

Social leads

The area applies to tenders. Social leads are not set aside because of where you sell. See Social leads.
