Troubleshooting

Report a problem or send feedback

Tell the ScoutTide team about a bug, an idea or a question with Send feedback, or by email. A person reads every message and replies.

Found a bug, have an idea, or need a hand? Tell us. A person on the ScoutTide team reads every message and replies by email.

Report a problem from any page

Every page has a Report a problem link: in the footer under Company, and in the account menu when you are signed in. It carries the address of the page you were on, so we can see where it happened.

  • Signed in, it opens the Send feedback form below.
  • Signed out, it opens a short form: write what went wrong under What went wrong?, and add Your email (optional) if you would like a reply. We use the address for nothing else.

Send feedback from inside ScoutTide

  1. Open the account menu: the circle with your initials at the top right.
  2. Choose Send feedback or Report a problem.
  3. Under What is this about?, choose one: Report a bug, Product feedback, Ask a question or Something else.
  4. Give it a Subject: a short summary.
  5. Under Details, write what happened, what you expected, or what you would like to see.
  6. Optionally, attach a screenshot or a screen recording. The form shows the size limit.
  7. Choose Send to the team.

A message confirms that your feedback is on its way. The form shows the address we will reply to: the email you sign in with.

The Send feedback page lists the questions people ask most often, with links to the right place. Have a quick look before you write: your answer may be there.

What makes a good report

  • Say what you were trying to do, and which page you were on.
  • Say what you expected, and what happened instead.
  • Copy any message ScoutTide showed you, word for word.
  • Attach a screenshot. It often saves a round of questions.
  • If a tender or post looks wrong, include its title.

When an error page appears

If something breaks, ScoutTide shows an error page. On it:

  1. Open Something went wrong. Tell us.
  2. Write what you were doing.
  3. Choose Send to the team.

The report includes the page's reference, so we can find what went wrong. If the page shows a reference number, quote it if you write to us later.

The error page always offers Back to ScoutTide. It may also offer Go back, and Send feedback when you are signed in.

If you cannot sign in

You need to be signed in to use Send feedback. If you cannot sign in, use Report a problem in the footer and leave your email, or write to support@scouttide.com. Tell us the address you signed up with and what you see on the screen. Never send your password.

For sign-in trouble, these pages may answer your question first:

Too many messages at once

If you send several messages in a few seconds, the form asks you to wait a moment before sending another. Your earlier message has still arrived.

Still stuck?
