Retire, restore or delete a product
Pause a product with Retire and bring it back with Restore, or remove it for good with Delete. Learn what each one keeps and what it removes.
When you stop selling something, or need a free product slot, you can retire the product. Retiring is a pause: you can restore it later. Deleting removes the product for good.
Before you start
- Only a manager can retire, restore or delete a product. On the Individual plan, that is you.
- Not sure? Retire rather than delete. Retiring keeps everything and can be undone.
Retire a product
Retiring stops the product finding new matches. It keeps everything it already found, and frees a product slot on your plan.
- Open the menu under your initials and choose Organisation, then Products in the settings rail.
- On the product's tile, open its menu (the three dots) and choose Retire.
- ScoutTide asks you to confirm. Confirm to retire it.
You can also open the product and press Retire beside What this product scans for.
What happens next
You see Product retired. It stops matching, and nothing was deleted. The tile is marked retired, with the line Retired: the AI no longer looks for it. Restore it to match again.
A retired product has nothing to sync, so Sync now is not shown on its page.
Restore a product
- On the retired product's tile, open its menu and choose Restore. Or open the product and press Restore.
- You see Product restored; it will match again.
ScoutTide starts matching the product again straight away.
Restoring uses a product slot, just like adding a product. If every slot on your plan is in use, you cannot restore until you retire another product or change plan. See Plans and the free trial.
Delete a product
Deleting removes the product permanently. It cannot be restored.
- On the product's tile, open its menu and choose Delete.
- ScoutTide asks you to confirm: tenders it matched leave your list, and anything you have claimed is kept.
- Confirm to delete it.
You see how many matched items left your list, and how many claimed ones were kept.
Delete cannot be undone. If you might sell the product again, retire it instead.
Which one to use
- Use Retire when you pause an offer, run out of product slots, or want to try a different set of phrases in a new product without losing the old one.
- Use Restore when you sell it again.
- Use Delete only when the product was a mistake, such as a duplicate or a test, and you do not need its matches.
Other actions on a product tile
The same menu also has Edit, Product page, Matched tenders, Matched social leads, AI progress and Rescan. Rescan all at the top of the Products page rescans every active product at once.
