Working your leads
Keep, Ignore and Not a lead
Learn the difference between Keep, Ignore and Not a lead, and which one teaches ScoutTide to stop sending similar leads.
Every row in your queue has three quick decisions besides claiming it: Keep, Ignore and Not a lead. They look alike but do very different things. Pick the one that matches what you mean.
Quick guide
- Keep: hold on to this one after it expires. Nothing else changes.
- Ignore: hide just this one. Nothing is learned, so similar leads still arrive.
- Not a lead: this kind of work is not for you. After three like it, similar leads stop arriving.
You find all three in the row menu on any list, and under Actions on a tender page.
Keep
Tenders leave your list when they close, and posts leave it as they age. Keep stops that for one item: "Keep this after it expires. It stays on your list; nothing else changes."
- Open the row menu, or the Actions panel on the tender page.
- Select Keep.
- Confirm in the dialog that asks "Keep this one?"
A kept item shows a Kept label on its row. To undo it, select Kept and choose Stop keeping. The item is then removed normally when it expires.
When tenders on your list close today, a banner above the list says so. Select Keep all to keep every one of them in one step.
Ignore
Use Ignore when one particular lead is not for you, but others like it might be. For example, you would bid on this kind of work, just not for this buyer.
- Open the row menu and select Ignore.
- Read the dialog: "Ignore this one? Hides only this one. Nothing is learned from it, so similar ones keep arriving. You can put it back under Set aside → Ignored."
- Select Ignore to confirm.
A message confirms it, with an Undo button if you change your mind straight away.
On the Social leads tab Ignore works the same way: "Take this post off your list. Nothing is learned, and similar posts still arrive."
Not a lead
Use Not a lead when the whole kind of work is wrong for you. It is the one decision ScoutTide learns from.
- Open the row menu and select Not a lead.
- Read the dialog: "Mark as not a lead? This says the KIND of work is wrong for you, and the system learns from it."
- Select Not a lead to confirm.
A message confirms it, with an Undo button. Nothing is deleted.
How the queue learns
When you mark three leads with something in common as not a lead, ScoutTide notices the pattern and keeps similar ones out of your queue. You see a message such as "Noticed a pattern: ... will now be kept out of your queue."
This learning is simple pattern counting on titles. It is not an AI model, and you can always see and reverse it:
- Open Set aside.
- Under Set aside by, choose All or Not a lead.
- Scroll to Hidden by the system to see each rule and how many open tenders it is hiding.
- Select Stop hiding these to switch a rule off.
Get something back
Everything you ignore or mark as not a lead goes to the Set aside page, where Put back returns it to your queue. See Set aside and Put back.
In a team, you cannot ignore or set aside a lead someone else has claimed. Ask them, or a manager.
