Working your leads

How matching works

How ScoutTide finds tenders and posts for your products, what the AI match score and reason mean, and why some items are set aside.

ScoutTide reads new tenders and social posts every day and decides which ones fit what you sell. This page explains how that works, what the scores mean, and how you stay in control.

Step 1: find the candidates

Your products are the starting point. For each product, ScoutTide looks for tenders and posts that read like it. A tender becomes a candidate when it reads like one of your products and also does one of these:

  • carries one of the product's search phrases
  • falls in one of its categories
  • comes from one of its countries

A tender that is among the very closest in meaning to a product is also a candidate.

Tenders are published in many languages, so your product keywords are also translated into the main languages of the sources. A French or Polish tender for what you sell is found too.

Step 2: the AI reads each candidate

The AI then reads each candidate against your product profile and answers with:

  • a score from 0 to 100
  • a one line reason
  • a few topic tags
  • for social posts, what the poster is doing, such as asking for help

The candidates closest to your products are read first.

What you see on a row

  • AI score: shown as a chip, for example AI 85. It is a guide for ordering the list, not a verdict. The default order, Best match, puts the highest scores first.
  • Reason: hover over the score to read it. It is always shown on the tender page too, under AI match, because a score with no reason is a black box.
  • matches: the product the AI read this as work for. Useful when you sell several products.
  • Topic tags: labels the AI read in the notice. The AI wrote them, not the buyer.
  • Possible fit: scored below a match, but part of the work may suit your products. Read the reason before you spend time on it.

See Read a tender row for every label on a row.

Bid viability is not AI

The tender page also shows Bid viability, such as No barrier stated, Guarded, Has barriers or Unassessed. This flag says whether the notice mentions conditions like prequalification that could stop you bidding. It comes from fixed rules, not from the AI.

What the AI sets aside

When the AI judges that a candidate is a different kind of work, it is not deleted. It moves to Set aside, under AI filtered, with the AI's reason. The top of your list shows how many were set aside by AI.

If the AI got one wrong, select Put back. The item returns to your queue for good, and the AI never judges it again. Your decision always outranks the AI. See Set aside and Put back.

Daily AI reviews

Each plan has a daily number of AI reviews. When today's reviews are used up, further rows are listed with the label Not AI-checked until a later day's reviews reach them. Posts the AI has not read yet show Not checked yet and are listed after the checked ones.

What the AI never does

Titles, deadlines, buyers, values and links always come from the official source. The AI never writes or changes them. The AI can be wrong, so always read the notice itself before you act.

Make your matches better

  • Describe each product clearly, in the words a buyer would use. See Add a product.
  • Add the search phrases buyers write in their notices. See Search phrases.
  • Mark work you never want as Not a lead, so similar leads stop arriving.
