Tenders
Translate a notice and keep documents
Read a tender notice in your language with machine translation, and keep your own bid documents with the tender for your whole team.
Tenders come from buyers all over the world, in many languages. On the tender page you can translate the notice into your language, and keep your own bid documents next to it.
Translated titles
ScoutTide translates tender titles for you. In the queue, a translate icon at the start of the line under the title means the title was translated. On the tender page, a chip such as Translated from Malay sits below the title. Choose it to see the original title, and choose it again to go back.
Translate the notice text
- Open the tender.
- Scroll to Notice text.
- In Translate to, pick your language.
- Choose Translate.
The translation appears on top, marked Machine-translated. The original stays below it, labelled Original with its language, so you can compare the two.
A machine translation can be wrong. Verify deadlines, values and eligibility terms against the original before acting on them.
A long notice is shortened on screen. Choose Show the full text to read it all, and Show less to fold it again.
Your organisation has a daily translation allowance. When it is used up, translations already made stay readable, and new ones are available again from 00:00 UTC. If translation is briefly unavailable, try again in a few minutes.
Some sources publish no description, or allow only the key facts to be shown. Then there is nothing to translate, and the page asks you to open the notice at the source.
Documents from the buyer
When the source lists the buyer's own files, the right panel shows them under Documents from the buyer. They open on the source. If none are listed, check at the source, usually after registering on the portal.
Keep your own documents
The Documents section on the tender page is where you keep your own files for this bid: the proposal, the pricing sheet, partner documents. Everyone in your organisation can see them.
- Open the tender.
- Scroll to Documents.
- Choose a file from your computer.
- Choose Upload.
You can upload PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument, CSV, TXT, RTF, images (PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP), ZIP, EML or MSG files. The line under the upload button shows the largest file your plan takes, how many documents one tender can hold, and how much of your organisation's storage is used.
Keep emails with the buyer next to the tender: save them as EML or MSG and upload them here.
View, download or delete
Each document has a menu:
- View opens it in your browser, for files a browser can show.
- Download saves a copy.
- Delete removes it for everyone in your organisation. Only the person who added it or a manager can delete it.
When a tender holds the most documents your plan allows, delete one to add another. If your plan ends, you cannot add new documents, but everything already uploaded stays readable.
